Job Purpose:

The National Recruitment Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all activities within the Regional Resourcing team. The key aspect of this role is to ensure the recruitment and delivery of quality operators as required, along with leading the in house recruitment across the business.

The National Recruitment Manager will play a key strategic role in enhancing the company’s service offering to customers. By ensuring the Regional Resourcing team delivers consistent, high-quality, and efficient service. This role underpins our commitment to exceptional customer experience and operational effectiveness across the business

Main Responsibilities:
Resourcing & Talent Management

  • Lead and support the Regional Resourcing Co-Ordinators to attract, select, and retain high-quality operators who meet business and customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to ensure a consistent pipeline of skilled, compliant, and reliable operators across all regions.
  • Work closely with the Regional Resourcing Co-Ordinators to understand future project needs, ensuring adequate workforce planning to meet business growth and operational demand.
  • Build strong relationships with training providers, agencies, and other talent sources to enhance the quality and availability of operators.
  • Ensure all recruitment and onboarding processes comply with company standards, legal requirements, and health & safety regulations.

Leadership & Management

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the Regional Resourcing team to deliver high-quality, efficient service across all contracts and projects.
  • Set clear performance objectives and provide coaching, training, and support to enhance capability and performance.
  • Ensure strong communication, collaboration, and coordination between departments to deliver operated hire orders efficiently and accurately.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee all operational activities within the Operators Division to ensure delivery of excellence, compliance, and consistency across regions.
  • Implement and monitor processes that ensure the timely provision of skilled operators to meet customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, resource utilisation, and service delivery standards.

Strategic Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the Operators Division nationally, including expansion into new territories and markets.
  • Identify and drive new initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and enhance the customer experience.
  • Identify and secure opportunities for major projects, partnerships, and long-term contracts.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership team to align operational growth within the overall business objectives.

Commercial Performance

  • Monitor and manage divisional budgets, ensuring revenue growth and protection of profit margins.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Team to develop competitive proposals, pricing strategies, and customer solutions.
  • Track key metrics and provide regular reports on performance, customer satisfaction, and financial outcomes.

Customer Experience & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring service excellence and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination in delivering services.
  • Uphold the company’s reputation for outstanding customer service by ensuring the Operator Division operates with professionalism, efficiency, and integrity.

Skills and attributes:

  • Strong recruitment and resourcing capability, within the plant hire or related heavy equipment industry. The ability to identify, attract, and retain skilled operators to meet business growth and operational needs.
  • Proven management experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong working knowledge of industry regulations, health & safety standards, and legal compliance requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate with all levels of the business
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and support a high-performing team in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver results to tight deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, demonstrating initiative and drive to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
