HyConstruct supports the transition to a net‑zero construction industry by advancing hydrogen‑based solutions that can be tested and deployed on real working sites. The project bridges the gap between innovation and commercial adoption, accelerating decarbonisation within heavy construction plant operations.
HyConstruct is an Innovate UK‑supported project focused on reducing carbon emissions across the UK construction sector. Backed by UK Research and Innovation, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), and the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) through the ARMD4 competition, the project is developing practical low‑carbon and zero‑emission construction technologies.
As the plant supplier, we provide the machinery used to demonstrate hydrogen dual‑fuel technology on working construction sites. This allows the project to test solutions on real equipment, in real conditions, helping to prove performance, reliability, and site readiness.
We work closely with project partners to support testing and development throughout the project. By sharing operational insight and hands‑on experience, we help shape technology that reflects the realities of modern construction operations.
Sustainability is a key focus for us, and through HyConstruct we support technologies that reduce emissions without impacting productivity. Our role helps bridge the gap between innovation and everyday use, supporting the construction industry’s transition to lower‑carbon plant solutions.
Cutting emissions across construction is a complex task. Here are some of the challenges our industry faces today:
Hydrogen dual‑fuel offers a practical way to cut emissions today.
